The First Magna Carta
Good
morning, I'm Fernando Vintimilla presenting the interdisciplinary English
project, I hope you like it, thank you very much.
In
the following work we are going to know everything related to the Magna Carta,
its relationship with citizenship, its religious and philosophical association
and the role of women as a political individual.
To
begin we are going to know the meaning of "Magna Carta", a Magna
Carta or Constitution is a normative text in which the general skills to
establish life in society and the functioning of the state are presented. Thus,
it is a general legal framework that should guide the set of laws of a nation.
The
Constitution of Ecuador of 1830 is the starting point of the origin of the
Republic of Ecuador, which had previously been known as the Kingdom of Quito,
the Royal Court of Quito and the Southern District of Colombia, it was the
first political constitution to be in force since the creation of the State of
Ecuador as an autonomous country
It
all began on May 13, 1830, the first Magna Carta promulgated in Riobamba to
reaffirm a democratic and alternative state, however, only married literate men
of any age or single men over 22 years old who possess more than 300 pesos or a
profession could not vote. Servilely, the Indians had no voice or vote, they
remained under the tutelage of the parish priests so they had no participation
in voting and the blacks were slaves on estates and mines of the same notables
who made the constitution.
The
church had more power with the first letter, since it is the one that has the
most weight when making decisions.
And
in itself women did not have as much participation since at that time they did
not have the same rights that they have today.
The
first Magna Carta established who exercises the Legislative, Executive and
Judicial functions. Also, it explains how the representatives of these
functions are elected. It also indicates the process or procedure that a
project follows until it becomes law. According to the first Constitution, the
functions of the new Ecuadorian State are: Legislative, Executive, Judicial,
and Electoral.
After
five years of validity, the 1830 constitution ceased to be useful for the
country, since it ceased to aspire to Colombian integration and sought total
sovereignty without adhering to any other state. This is why, in the city of
Ambato, the National Convention met in 1835. Said convention drew up a new
constitutional text, leaving the State of Ecuador behind and founding the
Republic of Ecuador. The convention also elected Vicente Rocafuerte from
Guayaquil as "President of the Republic" and Juan Bernardo León y
Cevallos from Rio de Janeiro as "Vice President of the Republic." The
new constitution was sanctioned by the Convention on July 30 and was
promulgated on August 13.
My
conclusion would be that the first magna carta had an important participation
and impact due to the fact of being the first, with its positive aspects but
with more negative aspects since it did not benefit everyone, only a certain
group of people, so in my opinion it does not It was the right thing to do but
we must accept that they were other times in which they thought differently, so
we only have to see what they did in the past because it cannot be changed.
This
has been my video on the first Magna Carta, I hope you liked it, thank you.
